ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Kijogoo Tanzania for Community Development (formerly Kijogoo Group for Community Development) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization under the NGO Act No. 24/2002, with registration number NGO-0389 (formerly NGO-0330), headquartered in Uwanja wa Taifa Ward, Morogoro Municipal, Morogoro Region. Since its establishment in 2008, KTCD has been at the forefront of promoting good governance, social accountability, economic empowerment, and community development across Tanzania. KTCD’s vision is to build an informed society engaged in income-generating activities, health improvement, human rights protection, environmental conservation, and democratic participation. Its mission is to strengthen the capacity of citizens and leaders through education, advocacy, and accountability mechanisms that promote transparency, inclusion, and effective use of public resources. The organization has successfully implemented diverse projects in partnership with donors such as Swisscontact, The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS), the U.S. Embassy, USAID, and Change the Game Academy. Key interventions include vocational skills training for young mothers, youth entrepreneurship empowerment, child protection, organic farming, beekeeping, food security initiatives, and extensive Public Expenditure Tracking Surveys (PETS) and Social Accountability Monitoring (SAM) projects in education, health, agriculture, and water sectors. KTCD’s work has empowered thousands of youth, women, and vulnerable groups by improving livelihoods, enhancing democratic participation, and strengthening governance systems at community level. The organization continues to advocate for transparency, equitable resource allocation, and citizen participation in development, while promoting sustainable solutions that tackle poverty, gender inequality, and climate change.
